A man in a yellow Pikachu costume is on the run after police say he smashed into two banks in Jefferson County with a softball bat.

The first incident occurred on Oct. 19, 2026, at 9:37 p.m. at a U.S. Bank branch on Shaffer Parkway. The second happened the next night at 10:16 p.m. at a Wells Fargo location on West Belleview Avenue. In both cases, the suspect used a green Easton Topaz youth or women's bat to strike doors, ATMs, and signage.

Deputies described the man as white. He wore a children's Pikachu onesie over his head. A green knitted zip-up hoodie covered his body, featuring dancing bears on the sleeves and a large Grateful Dead graphic on the back. A red, pink, and burgundy scarf hung around his neck. On his feet, he wore black Hermes Izmir-style slides.

The suspect drove a white Subaru Outback from the early 2000s. The vehicle had white door handles and silver or beige metallic cladding on the lower body.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office requests public help. Call 303-271-5612 or email jcsocrimetips@jeffco.us. Reference case numbers 26-19825 and 26-19741. Tips can be anonymous.

Officers ask the public not to approach or confront the individual.
