Residents across Arizona will see a shift from mild conditions to warmer, breezy weather over the coming weekend. After a week of temperatures hovering near the 70s, the heat returns with dry air and rising highs.

Today brings a forecast high of 78 degrees in the Valley, which sits four degrees below the seasonal average. Morning temperatures will start in the 50s before climbing through the afternoon. Tomorrow holds steady near that range, though high clouds will move in and stay through Friday. Friday marks the beginning of the warm-up, with a projected high of 80 degrees.

The weekend days will bring morning lows in the 50s and highs in the low 80s. Northeast winds will drive the breezy conditions, potentially lingering into early next week. While the Valley remains dry, Eastern Arizona faces a slight chance of rain late in the week.

Flood Warnings remain active for the Salt and Verde Rivers. Dam releases keep water levels elevated through at least the end of this week. Drivers and pedestrians should exercise caution near these waterways and low-water crossings as flows remain high.

The weather pattern signals a distinct change for the state. The combination of warmth and wind defines the upcoming weekend, while river conditions demand continued vigilance from those living near the Valley's major waterways.
