Daren William Mount, 59, was arrested on Monday in Meridianville and now faces 10 counts of first-degree voyeurism. The Huntsville Police Department says an employee at a local business noticed "concerning" images while helping Mount transfer digital files. That report triggered a review by the department's Special Task Force Rescuing and Investigating Kid Exploitation team.

Investigators found pictures and videos of children on the devices. Some footage was captured at angles showing intimate parts of the bodies. Police stated that several images had been manipulated and appeared to be taken in public locations.

Mount is listed on the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Sex Offender Registry. Federal court records show he pleaded guilty to receipt of child pornography in 2013. He received a prison sentence of 84 months and 240 months of supervised release. The 2011 indictment noted his conduct spanned from 2003 to 2010, involving the viewing of child sexual abuse material on a laptop.

Since his release in 2019, Mount returned to prison twice for violating the terms of his release. After one of those incidents, a federal judge ordered him to remain under supervised release for life.

Police seized electronic devices during the Monday arrest. Forensic specialists are currently examining those items. Authorities indicated that Mount could face additional charges as the investigation continues.
