Experts back Montreal and BC in Saturday's CFL finals

Four Canadian Football League teams remain in the race for the 2026 Grey Cup. The league's Eastern and Western Finals are scheduled for Saturday, November 7.

SportsLine expert Emory Hunt has released his best bets for both matchups. In the East, the Montreal Alouettes face the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. In the West, the BC Lions take on the Edmonton Elks.

The Alouettes advanced to the final by beating the Toronto Argonauts. They will now play a team that defeated the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the Western semifinal. Hunt, who is 44-38 on CFL spread picks this season, favors Montreal by 8.5 points. He also backs BC by 1.5 points against Edmonton.

Hunt views Montreal as the league's top team based on its regular season performance. He believes the Alouettes possess enough offensive balance to survive if one part of their attack is stopped. He notes that if Montreal shuts down Winnipeg's rushing game, the Bombers lack the passing threat to keep pace.

The Western matchup presents a different dynamic. Hunt says BC showed grit in its semifinal win over Saskatchewan by fighting back from a deficit. He argues that the Lions used a lot of energy in that game, which could benefit the well-rested Elks.

Hunt expects the BC and Edmonton game to be low scoring and close. He notes that their previous meetings this season have been tight. Despite picking the Lions, he acknowledges the Elks' strong season. Hunt stated, 'I strongly feel the magical season for Edmonton continues for another week.'

The winners of Saturday's games will advance to the 2026 Grey Cup.
