Zach LaVine and Darius Acuff Jr. lead expert recommendations for a short NBA slate.

The NBA slate shrank to three games on Thursday, October 29, limiting roster options for daily fantasy basketball players. Mike McClure, a professional DFS player with over $2 million in career winnings, released his top picks for the day. His analysis relies on a predictive model that simulates every game minute 10,000 times to account for matchups and injuries.
Zach LaVine of the Sacramento Kings is the primary target for LaVine, who costs $6,600 on DraftKings and $6,300 on FanDuel. The former 13th overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft has started the season with high scoring output. He averaged 27.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.3 assists over his first four games. In Sunday’s 123-112 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, LaVine scored 37 points and recorded five assists, two rebounds, and two steals.
McClure pairs LaVine with fellow Kings guard Darius Acuff Jr. in a stack. Acuff, the No. 7 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, costs $7,100 on DraftKings and $6,500 on FanDuel. He has posted strong numbers against Portland, scoring 33 points, four assists, and two rebounds in a 128-120 loss on Friday. His season averages stand at 21.5 points, 4.8 assists, and 2.8 rebounds in four contests. The expert views the upcoming matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans as favorable for Acuff.
Other players named in the broader field of options for the slate include James Harden, Damian Lillard, Ja Morant, Ty Jerome, Dyson Daniels, Jrue Holiday, Evan Mobley, Zion Williamson, and Jarrett Allen. Ty Jerome is the most expensive player available on both DraftKings and FanDuel for the Grizzlies versus Trail Blazers game. The Cleveland Cavaliers face the Atlanta Hawks in another Eastern Conference contest featuring Donovan Mitchell and C.J. McCollum.
