Denver placed running back RJ Harvey on injured reserve on Saturday, removing him from the active roster for at least four games after a knee injury sustained during Thursday's practice. The transaction was confirmed through the league's wire service.

Harvey, who entered the league as a second-round selection out of Central Florida in 2025, will not play in Sunday's game against Kansas City. He also will sit out the Broncos' next three scheduled contests. His earliest possible return is the home game against Miami in Week 13 on Dec. 6.

Multiple sources told The Denver Post that the injury is not season-ending and that the team does not expect a long-term absence. A source familiar with the situation said the medical staff hopes Harvey will be ready to play when he becomes eligible in December.

The absence creates a depth challenge for Denver's offense. Tyler Badie is also on injured reserve with a thumb injury and must miss Sunday's game plus two more before returning. Rookie fourth-round pick Jonah Coleman recently returned from a four-game stint on injured reserve after facing Arizona.

J.K. Dobbins now stands as the only running back on the 53-man roster who has not spent time on injured reserve this season. Dobbins has not played a full season healthy since his rookie year. The Broncos will rely on him and Coleman to carry the ball load.

Denver also will use fullback Adam Prentice, who provides pass protection. The team elevated running back Cody Schrader from the practice squad for Sunday's game to add another option.

The roster adjustments also affected the secondary. The Broncos promoted veteran safety Taylor Rapp to the active roster on Saturday to fill the spot left by Harvey's placement. Rapp has played a major role in the past two games with Xavien Hufanga out and safety Brandon Jones questionable due to a hamstring issue.

Rapp had previously been elevated from the practice squad twice, reaching the maximum limit for that status. He now joins the 53-man roster for the remainder of the season.

On the offensive line, the Broncos elevated undrafted rookie Gavin Ortega for Sunday's game. It is his first elevation and would mark his first regular-season start if he is active. Ortega provides depth at a position where left tackle Garett Bolles is questionable with a hip issue.

Inside linebacker Alex Singleton was fined $47,762 for an illegal use of helmet penalty during the third quarter of the 30-16 win against Arizona. The play was not penalized during the game. A source said Singleton will appeal the fine, which is his fourth of the season after one previous fine was rescinded.
