Jay-Z will perform the Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on Feb. 14, 2027. The NFL, Apple Music, and the rapper announced the decision on Monday. This marks Jay-Z’s first appearance as the main headliner of the event, despite his long-standing ties to the league and its performers.
Roc Nation, Jay-Z’s company, has produced the halftime show since 2019. The firm recently signed a five-year extension to keep producing the segment through 2029. Under Roc Nation’s direction, the shows have shifted focus toward hip-hop and rap music. Last year’s performance at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara featured Bad Bunny alongside Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin.
The Inglewood venue hosted the 2022 Halftime Show, which featured Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar. That show also included cameos by 50 Cent and Anderson .Paak. Other recent headliners include Kendrick Lamar and SZA in 2025, Usher in 2024, and Rihanna in 2023.
The 25-time Grammy winner is currently touring to mark the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt, and the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint. The tour began in July with three nights at Yankee Stadium. It continued in September with two shows in London and one in Paris.
Jay-Z’s final scheduled concerts for the tour took place on Oct. 23 and 24 at SoFi Stadium. Those performances effectively served as a warm-up for his upcoming Super Bowl set at the same venue. The announcement comes ahead of the Feb. 14, 2027, game.
