Megan Thee Stallion's Halloween costume required more than 700 hours of labor to complete. The custom creation for her annual Hottieween event in Las Vegas was built by a team of 23 artists, artisans, and specialized fabricators. They spent those hours crafting intricate details that included hand-painted fabrics and 3D-printed embellishments.
The rapper debuted the outfit on Friday, October 30, at Xouk Nightclub inside Resorts World Las Vegas. The event marked the seventh year of her Hottieween celebration, which she has held in various cities since 2019. The specific Las Vegas performance lasted four minutes and centered on a theatrical reveal of the costume.
Four performers from Cirque du Soleil initiated the sequence. They wore striped ensembles and red masks while executing a routine of breaking, capoeira, gliding, contortion, and diabolo. As Megan's music began, the performers froze in position. This pause set the stage for the rapper's entrance.
Megan was rolled out to the audience wearing a towering origami pumpkin skirt. The skirt consisted of 12 panels, each standing nearly six feet tall. The structure used more than 50 yards of fabric and incorporated over 400 square feet of custom-printed and hand-painted material. The design was directed by Cirque du Soleil creative director Gabriel Dubé-Dupuis and costume designer Miodrag Guberinic.
The outfit included an accordion sleeve made of 120 individually patterned pieces. It also featured more than 250 separate components and 13 3D-printed jester embellishments. To achieve the final look, the team installed more than 50 strategically placed magnets. These allowed the pumpkin skirt to separate into four distinct sections.
Dubé-Dupuis stated that the goal was to integrate Cirque du Soleil creativity into Megan's signature Halloween identity. He noted that the team designed the entire moment, including the arrival and the performers, rather than just the visual look. He described the collaboration as exciting because Megan does not do anything halfway.
The performance was choreographed by Tiffany Baker. The four artists on stage came from three different Cirque du Soleil productions in Las Vegas. The lineup included Brazilian b-boy and capoeira performer Fabiano Carvalho Lopes from KÀ. He was joined by glider Amaleke Bradley and Taiwanese diabolo artist Chih-Han Chao from Michael Jackson ONE.
Mongolian contortionist Oldokh Ganbold from the production O completed the group. The artists pulled apart the oversized skirt to reveal Megan's party-ready look underneath. She then performed a medley of her hits for the crowd at the club.
The costume represented a high level of craftsmanship for a single night event. The 700-hour timeline encompassed the design, printing, painting, and assembly of the pieces. The magnetic separation mechanism allowed for a dramatic transformation during the live set.
