Henry Diltz, a veteran photographer known for his work with iconic rock bands, will be the featured honoree at the Art of Elysium gala on Dec. 12.

The event will take place at Chaplin Studios in Hollywood. Diltz will receive the title of Heaven Visionary. As part of this recognition, he will create a one-night-only art installation. The display is designed to reflect his personal vision of heaven. He plans to evoke the atmosphere of Laurel Canyon and Woodstock, locations where he captured many of his most famous images.

Diltz has documented numerous musicians throughout his career. His portfolio includes America, The Doors, The Eagles, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, The Mamas & The Papas, The Monkees, and Neil Young. His photographs have appeared on many album covers. This work established him as a prominent figure in rock photography.

Jennifer Howell, the founder and CEO of The Art of Elysium, commented on Diltz's approach. "Henry has a remarkable gift for making people feel comfortable enough to reveal who they are, and that spirit is at the heart of The Art of Elysium's work: bringing artists and communities together to create moments of connection and possibility," she said. Howell noted that the organization is pleased to support Diltz as he builds his world at the studio. She described the venue as a place where he shares "a rich legacy of imagination and storytelling" with the musicians responsible for many iconic recordings.

John Mayer, Alix and McG Nichol, Faryal Ganjehei, and Sima Morrison are co-chairing the evening. Rain Phoenix, a musician and the sister of Joaquin and River Phoenix, will receive the Spirit of Elysium honor. This award recognizes her work supporting the communities served by the nonprofit.

Elijah Wood and Chris Holmes will serve as the DJs for the night. They will take over the booth for the duration of the event.

Funds raised at the gala will support the nonprofit's programs. The organization works with individuals facing illness, isolation, displacement, disability, emotional challenges, and major life transitions. Its focus is on providing connection, belonging, dignity, participation, and expression to these groups.
