The Los Angeles Chargers dropped to a 0-7 record on Sunday following a 24-9 defeat by the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium.
Quarterback Justin Herbert threw for a season-high 257 yards but also threw two interceptions, bringing his total for the season to ten, the most in the league.
The offense failed to score a touchdown on any drive for the second consecutive game. This extends a streak of nine straight quarters without a scoring drive, a run that began after a 42-yard touchdown run by Kimani Vidal in a loss to the Denver Broncos on Oct. 11.
Cameron Dicker kicked three field goals, which was the only point production from the Chargers' offense. The team was shut out in the second half.
The Chargers have been outscored 83-54 in the second halves of games this season. In fourth quarters specifically, they have been outscored by a margin of 63-13.
Head coach Jim Harbaugh said the team lost in the middle eight minutes of the game and turned the ball over. He confirmed that offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel will keep his play-calling duties.
Harbaugh stated the team will review the film to address issues. McDaniel, who was not available for comments on Sunday, has a scheduled press conference on Thursday.
The Chargers had a bye week following their last winless stretch, leaving them as the only winless team in the NFL before this game. Their next game is against the Houston Texans on Nov. 9, followed by a trip to the Baltimore Ravens on Nov. 16.
The trade deadline is set for Nov. 10. Outside linebacker Khalil Mack, a 13-year veteran and nine-time Pro Bowl selection, dismissed questions about being traded before the deadline. Mack said he is trying to stay where his feet are to deal with outside noise.
Mack defended Herbert, who completed 24 of 32 passes in the loss. Mack said he has Herbert's back despite the ups and downs.
Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford directed touchdown drives on three of four possessions. This included a scoring drive during a two-minute drill before halftime.
