Speaker Mike Johnson is issuing a stark warning to voters on Election Day, arguing that a Democratic-controlled House would plunge the nation into a two-year period of chaos. In a USA Today op-ed published on October 30, Johnson described the current Democratic Party as having bent the knee to its far-left wing. He specifically cited the Democratic Socialists of America, or DSA, as a force that would hold any narrow Democratic majority hostage to its radical agenda.

Johnson drew a direct parallel to the political turmoil in France, describing the country as a dark harbinger of what could happen in the United States. He pointed to violent riots, the smashing of buildings and cars, and the looting of shops in France as evidence of the consequences of lax immigration and suffocating regulation. For Johnson, the chaos unfolding in France is a preview of the instability that awaits American voters if they choose the Democratic path.

The Speaker emphasized that the election is a choice between common sense and absolute crazy. In recent interviews on Fox News, he stated that Democrats want to abolish borders and prisons while defunding the police and the Department of War. He described the current Democratic platform as a taste of what is to come, noting that the insurgent left is taking over the party. Johnson believes voters are savvy and paying attention to this contrast between the two parties.

Johnson warned that a Democratic victory would mean turning the keys over to a group of angry Democrats seeking retribution against President Trump and his administration. He predicted that they would try to open the borders wide and repeal the Working Families Tax Cut. The Speaker described the next Congress under Democratic control as a period where every vote would count, recalling that in 2024, ten House races were decided by six thousand votes or less.

Despite the slim majority, Johnson credits House Republicans with delivering historic results during the 119th Congress. He highlighted the passage of the largest middle and working-class tax cut in history, which he said brought down costs for American families. The Speaker noted that Republicans also cut 1.6 trillion dollars in wasteful government spending and secured the border, achieving the lowest violent crime rate in 126 years.

In his op-ed, Johnson listed specific achievements such as the first-ever nationwide school choice program and the launch of Trump Accounts for children. He claimed that more than one million private sector jobs were added to the economy, with American manufacturing reshoring to the United States. Johnson stated that these results were achieved despite Democrats forcing three government shutdowns, including the longest in U.S. History.

The Speaker also addressed the economic landscape, noting that the country is dealing with persistent inflation and rising interest rates. He pointed to the weak consumer sentiment and high gasoline prices caused by the war with Iran as challenges his party is navigating. Johnson argued that the Republican record stands in contrast to the Democrats' history of trillions in new spending and 40-year-high inflation that crushed family budgets.

In California, where polls are open from 7 a.m. To 8 p.m., voters are deciding the fate of the House and Senate for the final two years of President Trump's term. The state has an open governor's race, and no Senate race is on the ballot. According to Ballotpedia, California is one of the states using new congressional maps after mid-decade redistricting, which could influence the outcome in specific districts.

Johnson has been traveling nonstop to highlight his party's record, visiting more than 40 districts across 22 states this month alone. He emphasized that the American people understand this is a contrast election and do not want to go back to what he called crazy. He said he is confident that the polls are underestimating Republican enthusiasm around the country.

The Speaker concluded his message by urging voters to ask themselves which set of policies is better for their families and aging parents. He reiterated that every single vote matters in this pivotal midterms election. As polls remain open, the focus is on whether voters will accept the Republican claim of delivery or heed the warning of a Democratic House held hostage by the far left.

In his USA Today piece, Johnson noted that Democrats have a history of trying to erase history and mock faith and traditions. He argued that Americans remember the disaster of Democratic public policy and will not be discouraged by unreliable polls. He stated that the Republican Party has chosen to build on the foundations that made the nation great rather than tearing them down.
